Since 2008, Buck’s Coffee Café in Cashiers has been more than just a spot to grab a cup of coffee – it’s been a cornerstone of Cashiers life – known not just for its exceptional brews but for the sense of connection it fosters among locals and visitors.
Under the ownership of Stephanie and Steve Miskew since October of 2021, Buck’s continues to blend the art of coffee with the spirit of the community.
The Miskews purchased Buck’s following a chance meeting with the previous owners. They had been frequent visitors to Highlands and were looking for an opportunity to immerse themselves more deeply in the area.
“Buck’s had such a warm, welcoming vibe,” Stephanie recalls. “We felt the energy the first time we walked in. You could tell it was a place where people gathered to share moments and create memories. It felt like the perfect fit
for us.”
In the years since, the Miskews have made it their mission to maintain the café’s legacy while adding their own touches– like the creative drink of the month Stephanie creates throughout the season.
The café’s rustic interior, with its wooden tables and warm, cozy ambiance, invites patrons to relax while sipping on organic, fair-trade Café Campesino coffee. Large windows flood the space with natural light, and the café’s inviting front porch is the perfect spot to sip your morning espresso or enjoy the world’s best oatmeal.
And for those who love wine, Bucks carries a selection of over 50 labels from around the globe, carefully curated by Stephanie, a certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and a noted wine writer and lecturer. She also hosts special tastings throughout the season in this charming space.
“There’s just something magical about gathering with friends over a cup of coffee or glass of wine,” says Stephanie. “At Buck’s, we want to bring people together and create
those moments.”
Buck’s remains a welcoming gathering spot where the warmth of the space is matched only by the friendliness of its staff.
