Produced in limited lots ranging from 24 to 240 bottles, these wines are never replicated, making them among the most sought-after in the world. At the February 2025 auction, Stephanie and Steve Miskew of Highlands Wine Shoppe were North Carolina’s only buyer, securing two ultra-exclusive 60-bottle lots – each a testament to Napa’s rich history, masterful craftsmanship, and enduring prestige.

Their first win at the auction was a 60-bottle lot of a sparkling wine collaboration between Paula Kornell and Peter Mondavi Jr., two Napa icons with a friendship that goes back decades.
This pinot noir and chardonnay cuvée, sourced from the renowned Mitsuko’s Vineyard in Los Carneros, is more than just a bottle of bubbles – it’s history bottled, a celebration of legacy and innovation. This ultra-rare sparkling wine will arrive later this year.
Not stopping there, they landed another 60-bottle lot, a single-barrel cabernet franc from Morlet Family Vineyards, crafted by the legendary Luc Morlet.

A Bordeaux-born master of Napa winemaking, Morlet sourced this wine from the famed Cœur de Vallée vineyard in Oakville, a site known for producing some of the region’s most refined and complex wines.
