At the Rotary Club of Highlands meeting last Tuesday, the program was provided by our own members, Andy Chmar and Ricky Siegel. Andy detailed his trip to Rwanda and Kenya on the African continent, and Ricky described his trip to South Africa. Both brought back amazing pictures of the places and wildlife they encountered.
Andy chronicled his experiences with silverback gorillas in The Rwanda Volcanoes National Park and his visit to The Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Kenya.
Ricky ‘s trip included visiting sites in Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa’s wine country, and seven days of safaris on the Thornybush and Sabi Sands Game Reserves.
To echo their words, while the photos were great, one could never capture the feeling of being there.
