Beloved local musicians Ezra and Katie will donate 100% of the proceeds from their upcoming Friday Night Live performance to the Gordon Center for Children, including their performance fee and all tips received during the show. The concert will take place on Friday, August 1, at Town Square in Highlands.
Husband-and-wife duo Ezra and Katie Herz have been performing together for over a decade, blending heartfelt vocals and acoustic melodies. Highlands natives, the pair spent seven years in Los Angeles pursuing their artistic passions before returning home, where they have become a staple of the local music scene.
“We both have deep roots in Highlands, and supporting the Gordon Center feels like a natural way to give back to the community that raised us,” said Katie Herz. “Ezra actually attended the Gordon Center over 30 years ago, so this cause is especially close to our hearts. Early childhood education is so important, and the Center continues to do incredible work to nurture, teach, and empower local children. We’re honored to use our music to support that mission.”
The Gordon Center for Children provides early childhood education for families in Highlands and surrounding areas. Its mission is to promote cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development in a warm, safe environment, equipping young children with the skills needed for academic success and instilling a lifelong love of learning.

The Friday Night Live concert series is presented by the Highlands Chamber of Commerce/Visit Highlands, NC and runs from May through September, showcasing traditional mountain music and talented local performers.
