Dine out for Life

The Western North Carolina AIDS Project’s 14th Annual Dining Out For Life is happening again on
Thursday, April 28.
“This is WNCAP’s largest fundraiser of the year and biggest community event,” says Jesse Oates Vest, Special Events Coordinator for the agency. There are over 115 restaurants participating throughout seven counties that day and over 250 volunteers who help make it happen. Dining Out For Life is a national event that takes place all over the country with over 60 cities participating.
Diners can support the cause just by heading out for a meal that day. Restaurants are donating 20 percent of their proceeds including breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and takeout.
“We are excited to collaborate with restaurants and help them have a great day, hopefully bring out some new folks to their establishments, and make it a very community oriented event,” says Vest.
There are several opportunities to support DOFL in the area. In Highlands, both On the Verandah and Wolfgang’s will be participating in the event again this year. In Franklin, The Bowery has signed on for the first year.
By supporting Dining Out For Life and joining one of these restaurants on April 28, diners will help WNCAP create much needed AIDS Awareness and Education throughout the 18 counties of Western North Carolina and enable the organization to continue providing compassionate care for families and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. The combined generosity will make a difference in the lives of current and future generations and help provide additional housing, medical assistance, food deliveries, and staff in outlying areas of WNC.
