Wine and Dine at Canyon Kitchen

On Wednesday, July 13, Sonoma County Vintner Guy Davis will join Canyon Kitchen’s Executive Chef Adam Hayes for a lively evening of wine and food pairings at Lonesome Valley’s Canyon Kitchen.
True to its history and agrarian roots, Lonesome Valley’s Canyon Kitchen offers an extraordinary connection to food that both sustains and delights the senses. Massive oak beams define the structure of Jennings Barn and its open-air dining. Broad, rolling meadows and magnificent granite faces set the scene.
The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, to be followed by the much-anticipated wine and food pairings of Chef Adam Hayes. Chef Hayes has spent much of his career at the helm of some of the most renowned restaurants and resorts in the region. He spent five years as the executive chef of the highly-acclaimed Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville. In that role, he received many awards and accolades including hosting a dinner at the prestigious James Beard House in New York where he used all North Carolina ingredients in the meal. Chef Adam joined the team at Lonesome Valley in early 2015.
Vintner Guy Davis was in college in Seattle when he had the good fortune to become assistant to the chef of a fine French restaurant.
“The restaurant owner and chef were Parisian expatriates. And during dinner they would school me on the finer points of French cuisine, the culinary lifestyle and, of course, the place of wine in a well-lived life,” recalls Davis.
Chef Hayes says this will be a relaxed night full of laughter and fun, unlike other wine dinners you may have experienced.
“It’s going to be a party, not a stuffy affair,” he says. “I want it to feel like a great friend has come to visit so we’re having a party to celebrate his arrival.”
An Evening with Guy Davis will be held July 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. A magnum bar will be available for guests to enjoy a large selection of Davis’s award-winning wines and there will be live music throughout the evening. Reservations are required and tickets are $125 per person.
