You probably already know how sweet Bear Shadow will be. 

And this raucous (yet socially-distanced) music festival, set to be staged across the Plateau April 23-25, just became a bit sweeter for residents of Macon, Jackson, Transylvania, and Rabun counties.

“These hills are ready to once again be alive with the Sound of Music,” says Bear Shadow Board Member (and Laurel Publisher) Marjorie Christiansen, “Over the last 13 months, the hills, and our lives, have been way too quiet. Bear Shadow is our claim to bring back some of the best things in life – music, good food, beer and wine and surprising concoctions, dancing (yes, I’m planning to dance), and laughter.

“And since, this latest bit of news is aimed at locals, let’s just say Bear Shadow is our 21st Century version of Helen’s Barn. If you’re a local, you know what that means!” 

Upon arrival at Winfield Farm, staff will greet you safely in face masks and gloves. Please have your electronic or printed ticket ready for everyone in your car so they can be scanned. 

Staff will then ask each ticket holder a list of Covid-19 questions that all attendees are required to answer. It’s a good strategy to take your own temperature prior to arriving at Bear Shadow. 

After completing the questionnaire, staff will take and document each ticket holder’s temperature. If you have a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and/or do not pass the questionnaire, you won’t be allowed on the premises. Your ticket will be refunded, but you’ll be required to leave immediately.

Face masks are required to be worn any time you’re outside of your vehicle or your cove, so please mask up before exiting your vehicle. There will be complimentary face masks available should you forget yours.  

Please make your way to the main gate as soon as you are given permission by the staff for festival entry.  Bear Shadow staff will be positioned to help show you to your cove. Please help your cove family members to remember to wear their masks if they leave the cove.

If you purchased a General Admission cove, please bring your own lawn/outdoor chairs/blankets for seating.  VIP Coves will be provided seating.  We do not allow any firearms/weapons of any kind at Bear Shadow.       

No outside food or drink is allowed, but there’ll be food trucks and pop-up bars scattered throughout the site.  AND, the first round of beers are free!!
