Laura Herndon, VP of Development for The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, recently addressed the Rotary Club of Highlands about its work to support nonprofits, especially in Highlands. The Foundation has nine Affiliate Funds, one of which funds non-profits located in Highlands. In FY’25, the Highlands Community Fund awarded 26 grants totaling $105,605. Since its inception, the Fund has awarded $1,416,686 to local nonprofits and now has $3.1 Million in its fund balance. The next deadline for HCF grant applications is April 1, 2027.
