Previously at Delta Air Lines, David Hodgson has extensive Human Resources experience as an interviewer for the Pilot Selection Program. During his 28-year career, David has mastered not only what true customer service looks like but also how to achieve it.
His presentation at the Rotary Club of Highlands on Tuesday, March 3, outlined what all consumers truly want: anxiety reduction. He explained that every person walks around with an emotional “backpack” filled with weight concerning one or more of three primary categories: relationships, money, and health. Consumers ultimately are looking for businesses that can lighten this weight in some way. David continued to describe how to achieve this through positive interfacing, utilizing people skills, and even engaging the senses, such as using scent to increase visitor traffic.
Emphasis was specifically placed on the difference across generations, with younger generations potentially valuing efficiency above all else due to growing up with technology at their fingertips.
