Members of the Rotary Club of Highlands recently learned how Sue Blair, their own Rotarian colleague, has nurtured thousands of people and horses through her work as founder of Carpe Diem Farms in Highlands.

During the evening of September 5th, The Rotary Club of Highlands once again hosted the ever popular Highlands Rotary Bingo, partnering with the Highlands School Booster Club for 15 rousing Bingo games, culminating in Super Bingo with co-winners Emmie Wedge and Bud Katz.

The Rotary Club of Highlands was honored to host T.J. Smith, Executive Director of the International Friendship Center (IFC), at its recent meeting. Smith shared updates on the organization’s vital work in the community, including upcoming events and the increasing need for services at the IFC Food Pantry.

With music in the air and children’s voices rising in harmony, Highlands came together to celebrate a new symbol of peace — a 12-foot Peace Pole gifted by local Rotarians, now rooted in the heart of town and the spirit of its people.

Last Saturday, the Rotary Club of Highlands under the leadership of Race Director Derek Taylor held the 15th Annual Twilight 5K Race. The event, which has become a summer staple for Highlanders and runners who come here from many places for this extremely well-managed race, was again a major success

The Rotary Club of Highlands will celebrate 80 years of Service Above Self with The Twilight 5K Race on Saturday, August 16, starting at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park and winding throughout the community. 

For 80 years, the Rotary Club of Highlands has quietly transformed the community – one project, one dollar, one helping hand at a time. This year’s Twilight 5K Race, set for Saturday, August 16, continues that rich tradition.
