I stand, staring at my closet.
I glance down. Hoover, my dog, is gnawing a lump of familiar-looking faux leather – my Nike tennies perhaps. Hard to ascertain.
I sigh. Guess I’m not playing pickleball this morning.
Sliding hangers aside, I pull out my tux. What’s this? The lapel’s crusty with goo, once dribbled-on, now dried, from neck to navel, it’s clear I consumed a little too much of everything last New Year’s.

If you’ve not been to Vic’s for Men, you are in for a treat. Stroll into a 1920s log cabin providing 2,000 square feet of evening wear, suits, slacks, shirts (button-downs and polo shirts, some with club logos), ties, shoes, sportswear, leather, jeans, khakis, new hats and sunglasses, and just about any kind of clothing one needs.
Owners Larry Rogan and John Stanger are there to please. Evidence of Vic’s popularity: this began with two racks of clothes from the women’s basement 20 years ago and today, guys, it’s poppin’!
The shop is open April through November: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Sunday from Noon until 5:00 P.M. and closed Wednesdays. Winter hours are December to April, Thursday through Sunday, closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Call and check website for holiday hours and weather conditions.
