If you’ve lived in Cashiers or Southern Jackson County for any length of time, you know Halloween has a way of finding its happiest haunt at The Village Green.
This year, Goblins on the Green returns with friendly fright, community spirit, and candy-bucket cheer from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 30.
For 2026, the celebration will unfold entirely on the Commons Lawn, creating one lively gathering place for little witches, wizards, superheroes, Blueys, and every other creature of the night. Treat stations will be tucked throughout the lawn and along the path next to the parking lot, giving families and friends who enjoy the trunk-or-treat tradition a familiar, festive way to join the fun. The evening is designed to be safe, slightly spooky, and wonderfully sweet.
Local organizations and individual community members will welcome trick-or-treaters and hand out goodies, transforming the gathering space into a cheerful Halloween village.
And because no great Halloween gathering should rely on candy alone, guests can also look forward to lawn games, a costume contest, a pumpkin carving contest, a festive photo backdrop, and a bubbly dance party that may raise a few friendly spirits.
As with the best traditions in this corner of the Plateau, Goblins on the Green is made possible by neighbors working together. The twilight celebration is presented through the partnership of The Village Green, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cashiers-Glenville Rec Center, and Boys and Girls Club of The Plateau. From the first costume sighting to the last swirl of bubbles on the dance floor, the event is designed to feel easy, joyful, and open-hearted.
