Some wellness experiences happen inside four walls. Others unfold beneath open skies, along woodland trails, and beside rushing water.

That’s the idea behind Flat Mountain Farm’s August wellness offerings, two outdoor experiences designed to help participants slow down, breathe a little deeper, and discover one of Highlands’ most beautiful properties in an entirely new way.

On Saturday, August 15, Yoga & Breathwork begins at 11:00 A.M. on the farm’s hilltop event lawn, one of Highlands’ few event spaces with sweeping mountain views.

Rather than offering a conventional studio class transplanted outdoors, Yoga Highlands has created a practice that embraces the setting. Gentle yoga is paired with intentional breathwork, inviting participants to settle into the rhythm of the mountains while surrounded by open sky and fresh air. Suitable for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners, the one‑hour class is $30 and limited to just 25 guests, ensuring a personal, unhurried experience.

The second offering begins at 12:15 P.M. with Forest Walk and Sound Bath, led by Courtney Bowker of Heart of Qi. Participants gather at the hilltop before embarking on a guided meditative walk through the property’s wooded trails. The path leads to one of Flat Mountain Farm’s hidden treasures – a secluded waterfall – where yoga mats are unrolled beside the rushing water for an immersive sound bath.

If you’ve never experienced one, the name can be misleading. There is no water involved beyond the waterfall itself. Instead, participants “bathe” in resonant tones produced by handcrafted singing bowls. Bowker uses bowls of varying sizes, each producing distinct vibrations that many find deeply calming and restorative. Some guests simply relax; others describe surprisingly emotional moments or a renewed sense of clarity. The 75‑minute experience is $35 and, like the yoga session, is limited to 25 participants.

Since acquiring Flat Mountain Farm in April 2024, Koble Delmer and her family have been thoughtfully expanding the property’s role in the Highlands community. While the farm remains a sought‑after destination for weddings, corporate retreats, private celebrations, and overnight accommodations, Koble has also introduced experiences that invite locals and visitors to enjoy the land in new ways.

The wellness series is a natural extension of that vision – using the property’s meadows, forests, waterfalls, and mountain views not simply as scenery, but as active participants in experiences that foster connection, reflection, and renewal.

At Flat Mountain Farm, the setting isn’t an amenity. It’s part of the curriculum.

Both wellness experiences will be offered again on September 12. For reservations and additional information, visit flatmountainfarm.com.
