The Highlands – Cashiers Plateau is rich in history yet features refinements rarely found in village life such as world class shopping, golfing, and restaurants. Accommodations range from five star hotels to rustic cabin rentals while real estate ranges from in-town living, country clubs and home estates. The pristine waterfalls, rivers and lakes as well as the miles of hiking trails complete the tapestry of things to do.

As a small group of strangers gathers, secrets emerge, suspicions multiply, and a police detective races to uncover the killer before another crime is committed.

In the winter months, the economies of Highlands and Cashiers slow to a standstill. This, combined with increased heating costs, drains funds from the family budget that would normally be spent on food.
Known as the “Cheers” of Bookstores, the Bookworm in Highlands is affiliated with the Hudson Library: all books are donated; all staff are volunteers; and all funds go to help support the library. More than a retail store, we are a community service offering carefully sorted donated books to provide the best quality at a used bookstore price.
Come join us for lunch each Thursday at 11:30 at a local restaurant and then quilting at the church. Held at St Jude's Catholic Church in Cashiers.

Whether you want to tackle a mountain or sit by a stream, you’ll find just what you’re looking for here. It’s the perfect place to step outside and enjoy nature. When folks think of the Highlands Plateau and Cashiers Valley, the first thing that comes to mind would no doubt be golf. This is a premier destination for those seeking the best and most challenging courses around; but there’s so much more available. Winter sports include ice skating, skiing, tubing and hiking. There are streams to fish, public pools and tennis courts to enjoy and playgrounds, too. Bridge tournaments, book clubs, Bingo games and movies will keep you busy when taking a break from waterfall hikes.
